INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER - MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the L142 telematics transceiver connector.

    2. Disconnect the X4 and X6 map light assembly connectors.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L142-17 (IND1) - X6-4 (IND1) Always Below 1 Ω
      L142-16 (IND2) - X6-5 (IND2) Always Below 1 Ω
      X4-16 (GND9) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      L142-17 (IND1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      L142-16 (IND2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  2. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY


    1. A01GO00E10

      Remove the map light assembly Click here.

    2. Connect 2 1.5 V dry-cell batteries in series.

    3. Connect a positive (+) lead to terminal X6-4 (IND1) or X6-5 (IND2), and a negative (-) lead to terminal X4-16 (GND9) of the map light assembly connector.

    4. Check if the illumination for the emergency call switch comes on.

      OK
      The red indicator comes on when the positive (+) lead from the batteries is connected to terminal X6-4 (IND1) and the negative (-) lead is connected to terminal X4-16 (GND9).
      The green indicator comes on when the positive (+) lead from the batteries is connected to terminal X6-5 (IND2) and the negative (-) lead is connected to terminal X4-16 (GND9).
