ENTRY AND START SYSTEM Rear Door RH Entry Unlock Function does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

If the rear right door entry unlock function does not operate but the entry lock operation operates, the communication line between the vehicle and electrical key transmitter is normal. Either of the following may have occurred: 1) the door outside handle touch sensor is malfunctioning; or 2) the rear door ECU RH receives the door outside handle touch sensor ON signal, but is unable to send the signal to the certification ECU through CAN communication.

  1. CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK OPERATION


    1. When the master switch assembly's door control switch is operated, check that the locked doors unlock.

      Result

  2. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (DOOR LOCK POSITION SWITCH)


    1. Using the intelligent tester, read the Data List.

      Rear Right Door (Rear door ECU RH)
      Tester Display Measurement Item/Display Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Lock Position SW Rear RH side door lock position switch signal / ON or OFF

      ON: Rear RH side door is unlocked

      OFF: Rear RH side door is locked

      On intelligent tester, item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.

  3. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (ENTRY SENSOR)


    1. Using the intelligent tester, read the Data List.

      Rear Right Door (Rear door ECU RH)

      Entry Sensor Rear RH side door touch sensor / ON or OFF

      ON: Rear RH side door sensor is touched

      OFF: Rear RH side door sensor is not touched

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR - REAR DOOR ECU RH)

    1. Disconnect the O3 ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the O23 oscillator connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O3-16 (SEL) - O23-4 (SEL) Always Below 1 Ω
      O3-16 (SEL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR - REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE RH)

    1. Disconnect the O23 oscillator connector.

    2. Disconnect the O24 handle connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O23-2 (SGT6) - O24-6 (SGT5) Always Below 1 Ω
      O23-2 (SGT6) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
