Tech Tips
Using the intelligent tester to read the Data List allows the values or states of switches, sensors, actuators and other items to be read without removing any parts. This non-intrusive inspection can be very useful because intermittent conditions or signals may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Reading the Data List information early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time.

Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

Turn the engine switch on (IG).

Turn the tester on.

Enter the following menus:

Select: Body / (desired system) / Data List /

Check the values by referring to the table below.
Main Body (Main Body ECU) Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note D Door Courtesy SW Driver side door courtesy light switch signal / ON or OFF ON: Driver side door is opened
OFF: Driver side door is closed
- P Door Courtesy SW Front passenger side door courtesy light switch signal / ON or OFF ON: Front passenger side door is opened
OFF: Front passenger side door is closed
- RL Door Courtesy SW Rear LH side door courtesy light switch signal / ON or OFF ON: Rear LH side door is opened
OFF: Rear LH side door is closed
- RR Door Courtesy SW Rear RH side door courtesy light switch signal / ON or OFF ON: Rear RH side door is opened
OFF: Rear RH side door is closed
- Master Switch (Master switch) Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note Door Lock Switch Status Door manual lock switch signal / ON or OFF ON: Door control switch is ON (LOCK)
OFF: Door control switch is OFF
- Door Unlock Switch Status Door manual unlock switch signal / ON or OFF ON: Door control switch is ON (UNLOCK)
OFF: Door control switch is OFF
- Driver Door (Front door ECU LH*1) (Front door ECU RH*2) Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note Lock Position SW Driver side door lock position switch signal / ON or OFF ON: Driver side door is unlocked
OFF: Driver side door is locked
- Door Key Linked Lock SW Door key linked lock switch signal / ON or OFF ON: Driver side door key cylinder is turned to lock position
OFF: Driver side door key cylinder is not turned
- Door Key Linked Unlock SW Door key linked unlock switch signal / ON or OFF ON: Driver side door key cylinder is turned to unlock position
OFF: Driver side door key cylinder is not turned
- Double Lock Position SW Driver side double door lock position switch signal / ON or OFF ON: Driver side double door lock is unset
OFF: Driver side double door lock is set

OFF: Passenger side door is locked
- Door Lock SW Door manual lock switch signal / ON or OFF ON: Front passenger side door control switch is ON (LOCK)
OFF: Front passenger side door control switch is OFF
- Door Unlock SW Door manual unlock switch signal / ON or OFF ON: Front passenger side door control switch is ON (UNLOCK)
OFF: Front passenger side door control switch is OFF
- Double Lock Position SW Front passenger side double door lock position switch signal / ON or OFF ON: Front passenger side double door lock is unset
OFF: Front passenger side double door lock is set

- Double Lock Position SW Rear LH side double door lock position switch signal / ON or OFF ON: Rear LH side double door lock is unset
OFF: Rear LH side double door lock is set
- Rear Right Door (Rear door ECU RH) Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note Lock Position SW Rear door RH side door lock position switch signal / ON or OFF ON: Rear door RH side door is unlocked
OFF: Rear door RH side door lock is locked
- Double Lock Position SW Rear RH side double door lock position switch signal / ON or OFF ON: Rear RH side double door lock is unset

PERFORM ACTIVE TEST
Tech Tips
Using the intelligent tester to perform Active Tests allows relays, VSVs, actuators and other items to be operated without removing any parts. This non-intrusive functional inspection can be very useful because intermittent operation may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Performing Active Tests early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time. Data List information can be displayed while performing Active Tests.
