WIPER AND WASHER SYSTEM Washer Motor Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The front light ECU receives washer switch information from the front wiper switch, and operates the wash relay.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (FRONT WASHER MOTOR)


    1. Select the Active Test, use the intelligent tester to generate a control command, and then check the front washer motor.

      Note

      When a BODY NO. 5 (front light ECU) related vehicle switch is ON, Active Test items related to the vehicle switch are prohibited (double operation prohibition). Check that the vehicle switches are off before performing Active Tests.

      Front light ECU:

      Washer motor operates.

  2. INSPECT FRONT WASHER MOTOR


    1. A01GKM0E01

      Remove the front washer motor Click here.

    2. Apply battery voltage to the windshield washer motor and check the operation of the windshield washer motor.

      OK
      Measurement Condition Specified Condition

      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1

      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 2

      		 Front washer motor operation is normal

    NG

    REPLACE FRONT WASHER MOTOR Click here

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WASHER MOTOR - LIGHT ECU)


    1. A01GHVNE01

      Disconnect the A51 front light ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the A1 washer motor connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A1-1 - A51-17 (W+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A1-2 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      A1-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
