INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (FRONT WIPER MOTOR)

    1. Select the Active Test, use the intelligent tester to generate a control command, and then check the front wiper motor.

      Note

When a BODY NO. 5 (front light ECU) related vehicle switch is ON, Active Test items related to the vehicle switch are prohibited (double operation prohibition). Check that the vehicle switches are OFF before performing Active Tests.

      Front light ECU:
      Item Test Details Diagnostic Note
Wiper Mot (HI) Front wiper motor HI operation ON / OFF
Wiper Mot (LO) Front wiper motor LO operation ON / OFF
      OK
      Front wiper motor operates.

    OK
    NG
  2. INSPECT FRONT WIPER MOTOR

    1. A01GHS4E01

Remove the front wiper motor. Click here

    2. Check the LO operation.

      1. for LHD:

Connect the positive (+) battery lead to terminal 1 (+1) of the connector and the negative (-) battery lead to terminal 5 (E), and check that the motor operates at low speed.

        OK
        Motor operates at low speed
      2. for RHD:

Connect the positive (+) battery lead to terminal 5 (+1) of the connector and the negative (-) battery lead to terminal 4 (E), and check that the motor operates at low speed.

        OK
        Motor operates at low speed
    3. Check the HI operation.

      1. for LHD:

Connect the positive (+) battery lead to terminal 4 (+2) of the connector and the negative (-) battery lead to terminal 5 (E), and check that the motor operates at high speed.

        OK
        Motor operates at high speed
      2. for RHD:

Connect the positive (+) battery lead to terminal 3 (+2) of the connector and the negative (-) battery lead to terminal 4 (E), and check that the motor operates at high speed.

        OK
        Motor operates at high speed

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WIPER MOTOR - LIGHT ECU AND BODY GROUND)

    1. A01GKYFE03

      Disconnect the A32 motor connector.

    2. Disconnect the A51 ECU connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
