HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY (for HID Headlight) DISASSEMBLY

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


  1. REMOVE HEADLIGHT LIGHT CONTROL ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Turn the headlight light control ECU sub-assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration and separate the headlight light control ECU sub-assembly from the headlight unit.

      Note


      • Do not apply excessive force using a tool.

      • Do not damage the headlight gasket or allow it to become contaminated with foreign matter. If the headlight gasket is damaged or contaminated, water may get into the headlight assembly, resulting in a malfunction of the headlight light control ECU sub-assembly.

    3. A01GNXN

      Turn the headlight light control ECU sub-assembly socket in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration and disconnect the headlight light control ECU sub-assembly socket to remove the headlight light control ECU sub-assembly.

      Note

      Do not pull the headlight light control ECU sub-assembly with the socket connected.

  2. REMOVE HEADLIGHT GASKET

    1. Remove the headlight gasket from the headlight light control ECU sub-assembly.

  3. REMOVE DISCHARGE HEADLIGHT BULB

    1. Release the set spring lock in the order shown in the illustration and remove the discharge headlight bulb.

      Note

      Do not touch the discharge headlight bulb glass.

  4. REMOVE HEADLIGHT SOCKET COVER

    1. Turn the headlight socket cover in the direction indicated by the arrow and remove it.

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 HEADLIGHT BULB

    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Turn the No. 1 headlight bulb in the direction indicated by the arrow and remove it.

      Note

      Do not touch the glass part of the bulb.

  6. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER BAR REINFORCEMENT LH

    1. Remove the 2 screws and front bumper bar reinforcement LH.

  7. REMOVE HEADLIGHT BRACKET LH

    1. Remove the 3 screws and headlight bracket LH.

  8. REMOVE HEADLIGHT LENS LH

    1. Using a T20H "TORX" driver, remove the "TORX" screw.

      *1 "TORX" Screw

    2. Remove the 5 screws.

    3. A01GHOZ

      Using a dryer, heat the backside of the headlight unit LH.

      Note

      If the headlight is heated unevenly, it will deform or melt.

    4. A01GHRF

      Detach the 7 claws to remove the headlight lens LH from the headlight unit LH.

      Note


      • Wear rubber gloves when removing the fog light lens LH in order to protect your hands, prevent fingerprints and to keep the lens free from foreign matter. Do not use cotton gloves.

      • Do not touch the rear side of the fog light lens LH or the aluminum surfaces of the HID unit with bare hands.

      • If there are fingerprints on the aluminum surfaces of the HID unit, etc., wipe them off with a soft cloth.

      • If there are fingerprints on the back of the lens, replace the headlight lens LH.

      • Do not allow dirt or foreign matter on the rear side of the fog light lens LH or aluminum surfaces of the HID unit.

      Tech Tips

      If the lens cannot be removed even after heating, using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, lift the lens. Be careful not to damage the headlight unit and headlight lens LH.

  9. REMOVE HEADLIGHT LENS GASKET


    1. Remove the headlight lens gasket from the headlight unit LH.

  10. REMOVE HEADLIGHT SWIVEL MOTOR LH

    1. Remove the 5 screws.

    2. Disconnect the connectors to remove the light unit.

      Note


      • Wear rubber gloves when removing the light unit in order to protect your hands, prevent fingerprints and to keep the lens free from foreign matter. Do not use cotton gloves.

      • Do not touch the light unit with bare hands.

      • If there are fingerprints on the light unit, wipe them off with a soft cloth.

      • Do not allow dirt or foreign matter on the light unit.

    3. A01GL7V

      Remove the 4 screws and remove the connected gears from the aiming screw.

    4. A01GJDKE01

      Before removing the HID unit, measure dimensions A and B in the diagram and take a note.

    5. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    6. Detach the 2 claws.

    7. A01GJCI

      Rotate the 2 aiming screws counterclockwise and remove the HID unit.

      Note


      • Wear rubber gloves when removing the HID unit in order to protect your hands, prevent fingerprints and to keep the lens free from foreign matter. Do not use cotton gloves.

      • Do not touch the HID unit with bare hands.

      • If there are fingerprints on the HID unit, wipe them off with a soft cloth.

      • Do not allow dirt or foreign matter on the HID unit.

    8. A01GIXY

      Remove the screw.

    9. Move the headlight swivel motor LH as shown in the illustration to remove it from the HID unit.

  11. REMOVE LIGHT CONTROL ECU

    1. Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Disconnect the connector to remove the light control ECU.

  12. REMOVE HEADLIGHT SHADE ECU (w/ Adaptive High Beam System)


    1. A01GMOX

      Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Disconnect the connector to remove the headlight shade ECU.

  13. REMOVE LIGHT RETRACTOR CONTROL RELAY (w/ Driver Monitor Camera)


    1. A01GNJB

      Remove the screw.

    2. Disconnect the connector to remove the light retractor control relay.

  14. REMOVE FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT UNIT LH

    Note


    • Wear rubber gloves when removing the front turn signal light unit LH in order to protect your hands, prevent fingerprints and to keep the lens free from foreign matter. Do not use cotton gloves.

    • Do not touch the front turn signal light unit LH with bare hands.

    • If there are fingerprints on the front turn signal light unit LH, wipe them off with a soft cloth.

    • Do not allow dirt or foreign matter on the front turn signal light unit LH.

      Remove the 2 screws and plate.

    2. A01GML2

      Remove the 4 screws and light unit.

    3. A01GMIK

      Remove the 2 screws and cover.

    4. A01GHPD

      Detach the clamp.

    5. Remove the 2 screws and front turn signal light unit LH.

  15. REMOVE REMOVE CLEARANCE LIGHT UNIT LH

    1. Remove the 4 screws and clearance light unit LH.
