LIGHTING SYSTEM PRECAUTION

  1. PRECAUTION FOR USING BATTERY DURING INSPECTION

    1. While using the battery during inspection, do not bring the positive and negative tester probes too close to each other as a short circuit may occur.

  2. PRECAUTION FOR HEADLIGHT BULB REPLACEMENT

    1. When any defects such as deformation, cracks, dents, chipping, etc. is identified on the discharge headlight (especially, on the headlight control ECU), replace it with a new one.

    2. Even if the operation seems to be normal, the fail-safe function may be defective.

    3. Since the bulb of the discharge headlight and halogen bulbs (for headlight or fog light) have pressurized gas inside and can easily be broken if scratched or dropped, special care should be taken. When handling the bulb, hold the plastic or metal part and do not touch the glass part with bare hands.

    4. Never touch the high voltage socket of the discharge headlight with the light control switch in the HEAD position, as this could generate a momentary high voltage of 30000 V and lead to a serious accident.

    5. Never connect a tester to the high voltage socket of the discharge headlight for measurement, as this may result in a serious accident because of high voltage.

    6. When servicing the discharge headlight, do not allow the discharge headlight to come into contact with water. Turn off the light control switch and disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal and the connector of the headlight control ECU in advance to avoid electric shocks.

    7. When performing an operation related to the discharge headlight, operate it after assembling has been finished and never turn on the lights without a bulb installed.

    8. Do not turn on the discharge headlight using a power source other than the vehicle battery.

  3. PRECAUTION FOR AUTOMATIC HIGH BEAM SYSTEM (w/ Automatic High Beam System)

    1. Windshield Replacement Precautions

The timing of the change between high beams and low beams differs depending on the light transmission rate of the glass. For this reason, when replacing the windshield, replace it with an original equipment part.

    2. Inner Rear View Mirror Assembly (Automatic High Beam Sensor) Handling Precautions

Failure to observe the following precautions may result in a malfunction:

      • Do not touch the lens of the inner rear view mirror assembly (automatic high beam sensor) with bare hands.

      • Do not allow anything to adhere to the inner rear view mirror assembly (automatic high beam sensor).

      • Do not subject the inner rear view mirror assembly (automatic high beam sensor) to strong impacts.

      • Do not allow any liquids to contact the inner rear view mirror assembly (automatic high beam sensor).

  4. PRECAUTION FOR ADAPTIVE HIGH BEAM SYSTEM (w/ Adaptive High Beam System)

    1. Windshield Replacement Precautions

The timing of the change between high beams and low beams differs depending on the light transmission rate of the glass. For this reason, when replacing the windshield, replace it with an original equipment part.

    2. Inner Rear View Mirror Assembly (Adaptive High Beam System Sensor) Handling Precautions

Failure to observe the following precautions may result in a malfunction:

      • Do not touch the lens of the inner rear view mirror assembly (adaptive high beam system sensor) with bare hands.

      • Do not allow anything to adhere to the inner rear view mirror assembly (adaptive high beam system sensor).

      • Do not subject the inner rear view mirror assembly (adaptive high beam system sensor) to strong impacts.

      • Do not allow any liquids to contact the inner rear view mirror assembly (adaptive high beam system sensor).
