AIR CONDITIONING UNIT (for Rear Side) REMOVAL

RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM

1. Start the engine.
2. Turn the A/C switch ON.
3. Operate the cooler compressor with an engine speed of approximately 1,000 rpm for 5 to 6 minutes to circulate the refrigerant and collect the compressor oil remaining in each component into the cooler compressor.
4. Stop the engine.
5. Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system using a refrigerant recovery unit.
REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER
1. for LHD:
  
  Remove the 6 clips and cowl top ventilator louver RH.
2. for RHD:
  
  Remove the 6 clips and cowl top ventilator louver LH.
PRECAUTION

Note

After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

Note

When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.
DISCONNECT AIR CONDITIONING TUBE AND ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY
1. Detach the 3 claws and remove the cover.
2. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the air conditioning tube and accessory assembly.
3. Remove the 2 O-rings from the 2 tubes.
REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY

REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
1. Put protective tape around the rear door scuff plate LH.

2. Using moulding remover D, detach the 3 clips.
3. Detach the 7 claws and remove the rear door scuff plate LH.

1. Detach the 6 claws and remove the rear seat side garnish LH.

REMOVE INNER ROOF SIDE GARNISH LH

*1 Clip A
1. Pull the inner roof side garnish LH away from the body to detach the 4 clips (do not detach clip A).
2. Detach the 2 claws of the guide, and pull the inner roof side garnish LH in the direction of the arrow to remove it.
  
  Tech Tips
  
  Clip A remains attached to the body.
3. Remove clip A from the vehicle body.
REMOVE INNER ROOF SIDE GARNISH RH

REMOVE PACKAGE TRAY TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY
1. except 4-Passenger with Ottoman:
  
  Using a moulding remover D, detach the 4 claws and remove the 3 belt guides.
2. for 4-Passenger with Ottoman:
  
  Using a moulding remover D, detach the 4 claws and remove the 2 belt guides.
3. except 4-Passenger with Ottoman:
  
  Detach the 2 clips of the package tray trim panel. Then pass the 3 rear seat belt floor anchors through the package tray trim panel assembly.
4. for 4-Passenger with Ottoman:
  
  Detach the 2 clips of the package tray trim panel. Then pass the 2 rear seat belt floor anchors through the package tray trim panel assembly.
5. w/o Rear Cooler:
  
  Remove the package tray trim panel assembly.
6. w/ Rear Cooler:
  
  Disconnect the solar sensor connector and remove the package tray trim panel assembly.
REMOVE NO. 1 COOLER COVER
1. Detach the 2 clips and remove the No. 1 cooler cover.
REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Spare Tire)
REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY (w/o Spare Tire)
REMOVE ROPE HOOK ASSEMBLY
1. Remove the 4 bolts and 4 rope hook assemblies.
REMOVE ROPE HOOK
1. Remove the 4 rope hooks by pushing the claws in the direction of the arrows in the illustration.

  Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the No. 1 luggage compartment light assembly.
  
  Tech Tips
  
  Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
REMOVE FRONT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER
1. w/o Rear Cooler:
  1. Remove the 4 claws, 3 clips and front luggage compartment trim cover.
2. w/ Rear Cooler:
  1. Remove the 4 claws, 5 clips and front luggage compartment trim cover.
REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE
1. Remove the 3 clips.
2. Detach the 4 clips and remove the rear floor finish plate.

REMOVE REAR NO. 4 AIR DUCT
1. Detach the 4 claws and remove the rear No. 4 air duct.
REMOVE REAR NO. 5 AIR DUCT
1. Detach the 4 claws and remove the rear No. 5 air duct.
REMOVE NO. 1 COOLER AIR DUCT
1. Detach the 2 claws and remove the No. 1 cooler air duct.
REMOVE NO. 2 COOLER AIR DUCT
1. Detach the 3 claws and remove the No. 2 cooler air duct.
REMOVE REAR COOLING UNIT ASSEMBLY
1. Disconnect the harness clamp and connector.
2. Remove the 4 bolts and rear cooling unit assembly.
