AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM Rear Air Conditioning Control Panel Circuit

DESCRIPTION

This circuit consists of the rear A/C switch (built into rear power seat switch) and the air conditioning amplifier. When the rear A/C switch is operated, signals are transmitted to the air conditioning amplifier through the LIN communication system.

If the LIN communication system malfunctions, the air conditioning amplifier does not operate even if the rear A/C switch is operated.

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT FUSE (RR MPX-B 2)

   
   

   1. Remove the RR MPX-B 2 fuse from the luggage room junction block.

   2. Measure the resistance of the fuse.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition RR MPX-B 2 fuse Always Below 1 Ω

   
   

   NG

   REPLACE FUSE

   OK

2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR POWER SEAT SWITCH - BODY GROUND AND BATTERY)

   
   

   1. 

      Disconnect the r2*1 or S15*2 rear power seat switch connector.

      
      

      • *1: except 4-Passenger with Ottoman

      • *2: for 4-Passenger with Ottoman

   2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      except 4-Passenger with Ottoman Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition r2-9 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      for 4-Passenger with Ottoman Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition S15-1 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

   3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage
      except 4-Passenger with Ottoman Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition r2-14 (B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
      for 4-Passenger with Ottoman Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition S15-8 (B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

   REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

   OK

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER - REAR POWER SEAT SWITCH)

   

   
   

   1. Disconnect the r2*1 or S15*2 rear power seat switch connector.

      
      

      • *1: except 4-Passenger with Ottoman

      • *2: for 4-Passenger with Ottoman

   2. Disconnect the L76 air conditioning amplifier connector.

   3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      except 4-Passenger with Ottoman Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition L76-21 (LIN3) - r2-6 (RCLN) Always Below 1 Ω L76-21 (LIN3) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      for 4-Passenger with Ottoman Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition L76-21 (LIN3) - S15-9 (RCLN) Always Below 1 Ω L76-21 (LIN3) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

   REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

   OK

4. CHECK REAR POWER SEAT SWITCH

   
   

   1. Replace the rear power seat switch with a new or properly functioning one.

   2. Operate the rear power seat switch to check that it functions properly.

      OK
