ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH REMOVAL

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedures for the RHD and LHD.

  • The procedures listed below are for the LHD.


  1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER


    1. A01GM4S

      for LHD:

      Remove the 6 clips and cowl top ventilator louver RH.

    2. A01GI9P

      for RHD:

      Remove the 6 clips and cowl top ventilator louver LH.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

    Note


    • After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

    • When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  3. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH (for LHD)

    *1 Protective Tape

    1. Apply protective tape as shown in the illustration.

    2. Using moulding remover D, detach the 6 clips and remove the instrument side panel LH.

  4. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH (for RHD)

  5. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL ORNAMENT

    *1 Protective Tape

    1. Apply protective tape as shown in the illustration.

    2. Using moulding remover B, detach the 4 clips and remove the instrument panel ornament.

    3. Disconnect the connector.

  6. REMOVE SWITCH BASE HOLE COVER


    1. A01GLDW

      Detach the claw and remove the cover from the No. 1 instrument panel safety pad.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  7. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the claw and remove the switch base hole cover from the No. 1 instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. A01GNWZ

      Remove the bolt.

    3. Remove the screw <C>.

    4. Detach the 5 clips and claw and remove the No. 1 instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly.

    5. Disconnect each connector.

  8. REMOVE ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. A01GK2D

      Remove the 3 screws and bracket from the No. 1 instrument panel safety pad.

    3. Remove the switch from the No. 1 instrument panel safety pad.
