DESCRIPTION

C13AE/72

Both of following conditions are met:


  1. Engine switch is on (IG)

  2. After electric parking brake ECU is replaced, when engine switch is first turned on (IG), system cannot communicate with ECM for approx. 4 sec.

  • Engine control system

  • CAN communication system

  • Electric parking brake ECU

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note


  • If the electric parking brake ECU or parking brake with bracket actuator assembly is replaced, perform the "Reset Memory" and "Acquire Tension Sensor Zero Point" procedures Click here.

  • Before disconnecting connectors or fuses, turn the engine switch off and wait 20 seconds or more.

  1. CHECK ENGINE TYPE


    1. Check the engine type.

  2. CHECK DTC


    1. Turn the engine switch off.

    2. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and the intelligent tester on.

    4. Check for DTC Click here.

      Result Proceed to
      DTC C13AE/72 and a CAN communication malfunction DTC are output at the same time (for LHD) A
      DTC C13AE/72 and a CAN communication malfunction DTC are output at the same time (for RHD) B
      DTC C13AE/72 is output and the MIL is illuminated C
      Only DTC C13AE/72 is output D
      No outputs E

  3. CHECK DTC


    1. Turn the engine switch off.

    2. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and the intelligent tester on.

    4. Check for DTC Click here.
