Both of following conditions are met:


  1. Electric parking brake is operating

  2. One of following is detected: motor lock, gear lock, stuck cable, cable cut


  • Parking brake cable condition

  • Wire harness or connector

  • Parking brake with bracket actuator assembly

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note


  • If the electric parking brake ECU or parking brake with bracket actuator assembly is replaced, perform the "Reset Memory" and "ACQUIRE TENSION SENSOR ZERO POINT" procedures Click here.

  • Before disconnecting connectors or fuses, turn the engine switch off and wait 20 seconds or more.

  • This DTC may be output if a manual release cable is used. There is no malfunction. Perform the "Reset Memory" and "ACQUIRE TENSION SENSOR ZERO POINT" procedures Click here.

  1. CHECK DTC


    1. Check for DTC Click here. Check if DTCs other than C13A7/43 are output.

  2. CHECK PARKING BRAKE CABLE


    1. Check if the parking brake cable is securely installed Click here.

  3. CHECK PARKING BRAKE ASSEMBLY


    1. Check if each part is installed properly Click here.

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECU - ACTUATOR)


    1. Disconnect the S48 ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the S32 actuator connector.

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S48-8 (TSEN) - S32-5 (TSEN) Always Below 1 Ω
      S48-8 (TSEN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      S48-6 (TSN2) - S32-10 (TSN2) Always Below 1 Ω
      S48-6 (TSN2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      S48-7 (VT) - S32-6 (VT) Always Below 1 Ω
      S48-7 (VT) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      S48-14 (TGND) - S32-1 (TGND) Always Below 1 Ω
      S48-14 (TGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      S48-10 (SG) - S32-2 (SG) Always Below 1 Ω
      S48-10 (SG) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
