ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE SYSTEM, Diagnostic DTC:C1203/95

DTC Code DTC Name
C1203/95 ECM Communication Circuit Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The circuit is used to send TR(A)C and VSC control information from the skid control ECU to the ECM, and engine control information from the ECM to the skid control ECU via the CAN communication system.

DTC Code Information Code DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area
C1203/95 -

When one of following conditions below is met:

  • Vehicle destination information is not in memory, or vehicle destination information sent from ECM and information stored in skid control ECU do not match

  • Suspension type information is not in memory, or suspension information has been received while coil suspension is in memory

  • Wheelbase information is not in memory, or wheelbase information sent from AFS ECU and information stored in skid control ECU do not match

  • Availability of variable gear ratio steering system information is not in memory, or there is no memory of variable gear ratio steering system and variable gear ratio steering system information is received

  • Vehicle specifications are undefined

  • ECM

  • Skid control ECU

  • Suspension control ECU

  • AFS ECU

  • Steering control ECU

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

  • Before performing troubleshooting, check that the part numbers of the ECM, skid control ECU, suspension control ECU, AFS ECU and steering control ECU are correct.

If a part with an incorrect part number is installed, the skid control ECU may not operate normally.

  • When replacing the skid control ECU, perform initialization of the linear solenoid valve and calibration Click here.

  • If the ECM has been replaced, it is necessary to register the ECU (for 1UR-FE: Click here, for 1UR-FSE: Click here.

PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK DTC

    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Turn the engine switch off.

    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    4. Check that the DTCs are recorded.

      Result
      Result Proceed to
      DTC (C1203/95) is output A
DTC (C1203/95) and CAN communication system DTC are output (for LHD) B
DTC (C1203/95) and CAN communication system DTC are output (for RHD) C

      Tech Tips

If DTC C1203/95 and a CAN communication system DTC are output simultaneously, troubleshoot the CAN communication system DTC first.

  3. PERFORM INITIALIZATION AND CALIBRATION OF LINEAR SOLENOID VALVE

    1. Perform reset memory Click here.

    2. Perform the initialization and calibration of the linear solenoid valve Click here.

      Tech Tips

      • The zero point calibration of the yaw rate and acceleration sensor can be completed by performing the initialization and calibration of the linear solenoid valve.

  4. RECONFIRM DTC

    1. Clear the DTC Click here.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Check if the same DTC is recorded Click here.

      Result
      Result Proceed to
      DTC (C1203/95) is output A
DTC (C1203/95) is not output B

      Tech Tips

If DTC C1203/95 is output, there may be a malfunction in the skid control ECU. In this case, replace the skid control ECU.
