Tech Tips
Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
INSTALL FRONT COIL SPRING INSULATOR LOWER LH
Install the front coil spring insulator lower to the front shock absorber so that both recessed parts are aligned.
INSTALL FRONT COIL SPRING LH
Secure SST in a vise.
Attach the arm of SST to the diameter of the coil spring.
CAUTION:
Make sure that the coil spring is installed so that the distance between the upper and lower hooks of SST is at the maximum.
Make sure that the claws of the hooks are securely attached.
Using SST, compress the coil spring.
CAUTION:
If the coil spring bends during the compression, immediately stop the compression and reinstall SST.
Do not compress the spring until the coil springs contact each other.
Do not use an impact wrench.
Install the coil spring so that the end comes to the stepped portion of the coil spring insulator lower.
INSTALL FRONT COIL SPRING INSULATOR UPPER LH
Align the bolt of the front suspension support and the cutout of the front coil spring insulator, and install the front coil spring insulator on the front suspension support.
Align the width across flat of the piston rod end and of the front suspension support to install the front shock absorber.
INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
Install the suspension support assembly with the insulator upper to the shock absorber.
INSTALL FRONT SUPPORT TO FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER LH COLLAR
Install the collar to the shock absorber.
INSTALL FRONT SUPPORT TO FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER NUT LH
Temporarily install a new lock nut to the front shock absorber.
Adjust the front suspension support so that the bolts come to the positions as shown in the illustration, and remove SST from the front coil spring.
Note
Do not use an impact wrench.
Make sure that the width across flat on the piston rod end is located parallel to the shock absorber bush.
Make sure of the direction of the front suspension support when removing SST.
Install the front suspension support so that the paint marks face vehicle outside.
