COOLING FAN MOTOR (for 2WD) ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION


  1. CHECK COOLING FAN MOTOR


    1. Disconnect the cooling fan motor connector.

    2. Check that the fan rotates smoothly by hand.

      (Cooling Fan Motor)

      Check that the motor turns smoothly when the battery is connected to the fan motor connector.

    4. Measure the current according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Current
      for 120W+120W Type:
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 (+) 20°C (68°F) 5.3 to 11.3 A
      for 200W+200W Type:
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 (+) 20°C (68°F) 13.7 to 19.7 A

      If the result is not as specified, replace the cooling fan motor.

    5. Connect the cooling fan motor connector.

  2. CHECK NO. 2 COOLING FAN MOTOR


    1. Disconnect the No. 2 cooling fan motor connector.

    2. Check that the fan rotates smoothly by hand.

      (No. 2 Cooling Fan Motor)

      Check that the motor turns smoothly when the battery is connected to the fan motor connector.

    4. Measure the current according to the value(s) in the table below.
