EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION


  1. CHECK PURGE VSV

    A01GMXE

    1. Enter the following menus: Engine / Active Test / EVAP VSV.

    2. Disconnect the hose (connected to the canister) from the purge VSV.

    3. Start the engine.

    4. Using the tester, turn off the purge VSV (EVAP VSV: OFF).

    5. Use your finger to confirm that the purge VSV has no suction.

    6. Using the tester, turn on the purge VSV (EVAP VSV: ON).

    7. Use your finger to confirm that the purge VSV has suction.

  2. CHECK FUEL CUT RPM


    1. Increase the engine speed to at least 3500 rpm.

    2. Use a sound scope to check for injector operating noise.

    3. Check that the operating sounds stop momentarily and then resume when the throttle lever is released.

      Tech Tips

      Measure with the A/C OFF.

      Fuel return rpm
      1400 rpm
  3. CHECK FOR LEAKS


    1. A01GHUO

      Visually check that the hoses, connections and gaskets have no cracks, leaks or damage.

      Note


      • Detachment or other problems with the engine oil dipstick, filler cap, PCV hose and other components may cause the engine to run improperly.

      • Disconnection, looseness or cracks in the parts of the air induction system between the throttle body and cylinder head will allow air suction and cause an engine failure or engine malfunctions.

      If the result is not as specified, replace the parts as necessary.

  4. CHECK LINE AND CONNECTORS


    1. Visually check for loose connections, sharp bends or damage.

  5. CHECK FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY


    1. Visually check for deformation, cracks or fuel leakage.
