CAMSHAFT OIL CONTROL VALVE ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION


  1. INSPECT CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Push the intelligent tester main switch on.

    4. Start and warm up the engine.

    5. Idle the engine.

    6. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Active Test / Control the VVT Exhaust Linear (Bank 1) or Control the VVT Exhaust Linear (Bank 2).

    7. Check the engine speed while operating the Oil Control Valve (OCV) using the tester.

      Standard
      Tester Operation Specified Condition
      0% Normal engine speed
      30% Engine idles roughly

      If the result is not as specified, check the oil control valve, oil control valve filter, wiring and camshaft timing exhaust gear.

      Tech Tips


      • Control the VVT Exhaust Linear (Bank 1): Command to activate exhaust side oil control valve of bank 1.

      • Control the VVT Exhaust Linear (Bank 2): Command to activate exhaust side oil control valve of bank 2.
