DYNAMIC RADAR CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM FAIL-SAFE CHART

When the following conditions are detected while the vehicle speed is 0 km/h (0 mph) and the brake pedal is depressed, there is a beeping warning sound and the multi-information display displays an indication prompting a brake operation ("Check Cruise Control System Depress the brake pedal / Have your vehicle checked by a dealer").


  1. Constant speed control mode and vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode:

    A01GL1UE01

    If the following conditions are detected while the dynamic radar cruise control system is in operation, the system clears the stored vehicle speed in the driving support ECU and cancels the dynamic radar cruise control operation.

    Vehicle Condition Auto Cancel Condition Fail-safe Deactivation Condition

    • Master warning light turns on

    • "Check Cruise Control System" is displayed

    • "Pong" warning sound is heard

    • Open or short in stop light switch circuit

    • Problem with vehicle speed signal

    • Problem with throttle position sensor and motor

    		 Turn cruise control switch ON

  2. Vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode:

    A01GL1UE01

    If the following conditions are detected while the dynamic radar cruise control system is in operation, the system clears the stored vehicle speed in the driving support ECU and cancels the dynamic radar cruise control operation.

    • Master warning light turns on

    • "Check Cruise Control System" is displayed

    • "Pong" warning sound is heard

    		 Problem with electronically controlled brake parts Turn engine switch on (IG)

  3. Vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode (w/ Full-speed Following Function):

    If the following conditions are detected while the dynamic radar cruise control system is in operation, the system clears the stored vehicle speed in the driving support ECU and cancels

    • Master warning light turns on

    • "Check Cruise Control System" is displayed

    • "Pong" warning sound is heard

    • Problem with front millimeter wave radar sensor

    • Beam axis of front millimeter wave radar sensor deviates

    • Problem with brake hold system

    • Problem with near infrared signal circuit

    		 Turn engine switch on (IG)

  4. Vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode (w/o Full-speed Following Function):

    A01GL1UE01

    If the following conditions are detected while the dynamic radar cruise control system is in operation, the system maintains the stored vehicle speed in the driving support ECU and cancels the dynamic radar cruise control operation.

    • Master warning light turns on

    • "Check Cruise Control System" is displayed

    • "Pong" warning sound is heard

    • Problem with front millimeter wave radar sensor

    • Beam axis of front millimeter wave radar sensor deviates

  5. Vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode:

    If the following conditions are detected while the dynamic radar cruise control system is in operation, the system maintains the stored vehicle speed in the driving support ECU and cancels the dynamic radar cruise control operation.

    • Master warning light turns on

    • "Clean Radar Sensor" is displayed

    • "Pong" warning sound is heard

    		 Dirt on front millimeter wave radar sensor Recover from condition on left (RESUME operation is possible after recovery)

  6. Vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode:

    A01GJJXE01

    If the following conditions are detected while the dynamic radar cruise control system is in operation, the system maintains the stored vehicle speed in the driving support ECU and cancels the dynamic radar cruise control operation.

    • Master warning light turns on

    • "Cruise Control not Available" is displayed

    • "Pong" warning sound is heard

    • Wiper switch is in HI position

    • ECT-SNOW switch is on

    • Front millimeter wave radar sensor sensitivity has decreased due to bad weather such as rain, fog, snow and sandstorms

    • Recover from condition on left (RESUME operation is possible after recovery)

    • Turn cruise control switch ON
