DESCRIPTION

This DTC is output when one of the following occurs: 1) security horn is malfunctioning; 2) front light ECU (front controller) is malfunctioning; or 3) the wire harness between the front light ECU and security horn is open or shorted.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (SECURITY HORN)


    1. Operate the intelligent tester according to the steps on the display and select "Active Test".

  2. INSPECT SECURITY HORN ASSEMBLY


    1. A01GMU2

      for LHD:


      1. Remove the security horn Click here.

      2. Check operation of the horn.

        OK

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1

        Battery negative (-) → Horn bracket

        Horn sounds
    2. A01GMO0

      for RHD:


      1. Remove the security horn Click here.

      2. Check operation of the horn.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT LIGHT ECU - SECURITY HORN)


    1. A01GMH9E01

      Disconnect the A52 ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the A29 horn connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A52-4 (SH-) - A29-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      A52-4 (SH-) or A29-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
