SEAT BELT WARNING SYSTEM Front Passenger Side Seat Belt Warning Light Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The separate type front seat cushion pad (occupant detection sensor) detects if the front passenger seat is occupied and sends signals to the No. 1 meter ECU sub-assembly. The front seat inner belt assembly detects the front passenger seat belt condition and sends signals to the No. 1 meter ECU sub-assembly. After receiving the signals from the separate type front seat cushion pad (occupant detection sensor) and front passenger seat inner belt assembly, the seat belt warning light in the No. 1 meter ECU sub-assembly will blink or go off.

Tech Tips

The seat belt warning light on the No. 1 meter ECU sub-assembly is used for both the driver seat and front passenger seat.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

The seat belt warning system uses the CAN communication system. First, confirm that there is no malfunction in the CAN communication system. Refer to the How to Proceed with Troubleshooting procedure Click here.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (AIRBAG SYSTEM)


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Recheck for DTCs Click here.

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.

  3. READ VALUE USING GTS (PASSENGER DETECTION)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / SRS Airbag / Data List.

    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.

  4. READ VALUE USING GTS (LEFT SIDE BUCKLE SW, RIGHT SIDE BUCKLE SW)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / SRS Airbag / Data List.

    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.
