DTC Code DTC Name
B19A0/A5 Short in Front Active Headrest Squib RH Circuit
B19A1/A5 Open in Front Active Headrest Squib RH Circuit
B19A2/A5 Short to GND in Front Active Headrest Squib RH Circuit
B19A3/A5 Short to B+ in Front Active Headrest Squib RH Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The front active headrest squib RH circuit consists of the center airbag sensor assembly and the active headrest inflator RH.

This circuit instructs the SRS to deploy when deployment conditions are met.

These DTCs are recorded when a malfunction is detected in the front active headrest squib RH circuit.

Tech Tips

For vehicles not equipped with active headrest inflators:

Vehicles that are not equipped with active headrest inflators still contain active headrest inflator circuits and use substitution parts in replace of the active headrest inflators. If a malfunction occurs in this active headrest inflator circuit, DTC B19A0, B19A1, B19A2 or B19A3 is stored.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

  • After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work Click here.

  • When disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal while performing repairs, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

Tech Tips

  • Perform the simulation method by selecting "check mode" (signal check) with the intelligent tester Click here.

  • After selecting "check mode" (signal check), perform the simulation method by wiggling each connector of the airbag system or driving the vehicle on various types of roads Click here.

PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK ACTIVE HEADREST INFLATOR RH (FRONT ACTIVE HEADREST SQUIB RH)

    A01GHMNE07

    1. Turn the engine switch off.

    2. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

    3. Disconnect the connector from the active headrest inflator RH.

    4. Connect the red wire side of SST (resistance: 2.1 Ω) to connector E.

      CAUTION:

Never connect a tester to the active headrest inflator RH (front active headrest squib RH) for measurement, as this may lead to a serious injury due to airbag deployment.

      Note

      • Do not forcibly insert SST into the terminals of the connector when connecting SST.

      • Insert SST straight into the terminals of the connector.
