INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note


  • Turn the ignition switch to OFF before measuring the resistances of the CAN main wire and the CAN branch wire.

  • After the ignition switch is turned to OFF, check that the light reminder warning system is not in operation.

  • Before measuring the resistance, leave the vehicle as is for at least 1 minute and do not operate the ignition switch, any other switches or the doors. If doors need to be opened in order to check connectors, open the doors and leave them open.

    Tech Tips

    Operating the ignition switch, any switches or any doors triggers related ECU and sensor communication with the CAN, which causes resistance variation.

  2. CHECK CAN BUS LINE FOR DISCONNECTION (ECM MAIN WIRE)

      Turn the ignition switch to OFF.

    2. Disconnect the B25 ECM connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      B25-64 (CAN+) - B25-45 (CAN-) ignition switch OFF 108 to 132 Ω

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IGSW, E1)


    1. A0137VCE01

      Disconnect the B25 and B26 ECM connectors.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B26-24 (E1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value in the table below.

      Standard voltage

      B25-47 (IGSW) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

  4. CHECK CAN BUS LINE FOR DISCONNECTION (ECM MAIN WIRE)


    1. A0138R2E01

      Turn the ignition switch to OFF.

    2. Disconnect the A36 or A35 ECM connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      for RHD:
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A36-4 (CANH) - A36-3 (CANL) ignition switch OFF 108 to 132 Ω
      for LHD:

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (VBK, E1, E2)

      Disconnect the A36 or A35 and B53, B54 ECM connectors.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value in the table below.
