REAR BUMPER INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL BACK DOOR NAME PALTE NO. 2


    1. Using an infrared light, heat the double sided tape remaining on the rear bumper cover.

      Heating Temperature
      Item Temperature
      Back Door Name Plate No. 2 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)

    2. Using a piece of cloth, rub off the remaining double sided tape from the rear bumper cover.

      Note

      Installing the name plate with any double sided tape remaining on the rear bumper cover may cause adhesion failure.

      So completely remove the double sided tape.

    3. Install a new back door name plate after cleaning the attachment surface on the rear bumper cover using a non-residue solvent.

  2. INSTALL BACK DOOR NAME PLATE NO. 6


    1. Using an infrared light, heat the double sided tape remaining on the rear bumper cover.

      Item Temperature
      Back Door Name Plate No. 6 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)

    2. Using a piece of cloth, rub off the remaining double sided tape from the rear bumper cover.

      Note

      Installing the name plate with any double sided tape remaining on the rear bumper cover may cause adhesion failure.

      So completely remove the double sided tape.

    3. Install a new back door name plate after cleaning the attachment surface on the rear bumper cover using a non-residue solvent.

  3. INSTALL LICENSE PLATE LIGHT ASSEMBLY

    1. Engage the 4 claws and install the 2 license plate lights.

  4. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE MOULDING LH

    1. Engage the 6 claws and install the rear bumper side moulding.

  5. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE MOULDING RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  6. INSTALL REAR BUMPER REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Install the rear bumper reinforcement with the 4 bolts and 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      19.5 N*m  { 200 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf }

    2. Install the wire harness clamp.

  7. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE RETAINER LH

    1. Engage the 2 claws and install the rear bumper side retainer.

    2. Tighten the screw.

  8. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE RETAINER RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  9. INSTALL REAR BUMPER COVER

    1. Connect the 2 license plate lamp connectors.

    2. Install the wire harness clamp.

    3. Engage the 14 claws and install the rear bumper cover.

      Install the 4 clips.

    5. Using "Torx" socket wrench T30, tighten the 2 rear bumper reinforcement stoppers.

    6. Remove the protective tape.

  10. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Torque:
    5.4 N*m  { 55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf }
