REAR DOOR DISASSEMBLY

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for both the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Wait for at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag from working.

  2. REMOVE DOOR ASSIST GRIP COVER

    1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 2 claws and remove the door assist grip cover.

  3. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 2 screws and disengage the 4 claws.

  4. REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the screw.

    2. Disengage the 10 clips and remove the rear door trim board sub-assembly.

  5. REMOVE REAR DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER

    1. Remove the rear door service hole cover.

      Note

      Remove any tape remaining on the door.

  6. REMOVE REAR DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER NO. 2

    1. Remove the rear door service hole cover No. 2.

      Note

      Remove any tape remaining on the door.

  7. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 2 nuts.

      Remove the rear door outside handle assembly from outside of the vehicle by moving it in the direction shown in the illustration.

  8. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Disengage claw A.

    2. Move the front door inside handle sub-assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow mark in the illustration. This will release the claws and allow the removal of the front door inside handle sub-assembly.

    3. A0137TX

      Disconnect the cable from the front door inside handle sub-assembly by pulling it in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration.

  9. REMOVE REAR DOOR LOCK CONTROL KNOB

    1. Remove the rear door lock control knob by turning it counterclockwise.

  10. REMOVE DOOR LOCK CONTROL KNOB HOLDER

    1. Remove the door lock control knob holder.

  11. REMOVE REAR DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the clamp.

    2. A0136PA

      Using torx socket wrench T30, remove the 3 screws and rear door lock assembly.

      Note

      Do not allow the rear door lock assembly to fall or be damaged when removing the screw.

      Tech Tips

      Remove the rear door lock assembly through the service hole.

  12. REMOVE REAR DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY (w/ Power Window)

    1. Remove the clamp.

    2. Remove the bolt.

      Using torx socket wrench T30, remove the 3 screws and rear door lock assembly.

      Note

      Do not allow the rear door lock assembly to fall or be damaged when removing the screw.

      Tech Tips

      Remove the rear door lock assembly through the service hole.

    4. Disconnect the connector.

  13. REMOVE REAR DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (w/ Power Window)

    1. Remove 2 screws and rear door lock actuator assembly.

  14. REMOVE QUARTER WINDOW GLASS

    1. Using torx driver T20, remove the screw.

    2. A0137Y4

      Remove the 2 nuts and quarter window glass.

      Note

      Do not allow the glass to fall when removing the 2 nuts.

  15. REMOVE QUARTER WINDOW LOCK ASSEMBLY

    1. Using torx socket wrench T30, remove the 2 screws and quarter window lock assembly.

  16. REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS WEATHERSTRIP FRONT

  17. REMOVE REAR DOOR CHECK ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 2 bolts.

    2. Using torx socket wrench T40, remove the screw and rear door check assembly.

      Tech Tips

      Remove the rear door check assembly through the service hole.
