FRONT DOOR (w/ Power Window) DISASSEMBLY

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for both the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Wait for at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag from working.

  2. REMOVE DOOR ASSIST GRIP COVER

    1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 2 claws and remove the door assist grip cover.

  3. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 2 screws and disengage the 4 claws.

  4. REMOVE FRONT ARMREST BASE PANEL UPPER

    1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 3 claws and remove the front armrest base panel upper.

    2. A013832

      Disconnect the connector and remove the front armrest base panel upper.

  5. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the screw.

    2. Disengage the 15 clips and remove the front door trim board sub-assembly.

  6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR FRONT LOWER FRAME COVER UPPER

    1. Remove the front door front lower frame cover upper by sliding it in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration.

  7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOWER FRAME BRACKET GARNISH

    1. Remove the 2 screws and disengage the 2 clips.

  8. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER

    1. Remove the front door service hole cover.

      Note

      Remove any tape remaining on the door.

  9. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER NO. 2

    1. Remove the front door service hole cover No. 2.

      Note

      Remove any tape remaining on the door.

  10. REMOVE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 3 screws and outer rear view mirror assembly LH.

  11. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS WEATHERSTRIP ASSEMBLY OUTER

    1. Apply protective tape to the outer circumference of the front door belt moulding, as shown in the illustration.

    2. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 5 claws and remove the front door belt moulding.

  12. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS WEATHERSTRIP ASSEMBLY INNER

  13. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS RUN

    1. Remove the front door glass run.

  14. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Connect the power window regulator switch.

    2. Move the door glass until the 2 screws can be seen through the service holes.

    3. Remove the 2 screws and front door glass sub-assembly.

      Note

      Do not allow the front door glass sub-assembly to fall or be damaged when removing the screw.

    4. Disconnect the power window regulator switch.

  15. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the 3 nuts and front door window regulator sub-assembly.

      Note

      Do not allow the front door window regulator sub-assembly to fall or be damaged when removing the nuts.

      Tech Tips

      Remove the front door window regulator sub-assembly through the service hole.

  16. REMOVE FRONT DOOR FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY FRONT LOWER

    1. Remove the bolt and front door frame sub-assembly front lower.

  17. REMOVE FRONT DOOR FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY REAR LOWER

    1. Remove the bolt and front door frame sub-assembly rear lower.

  18. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Disengage claw A.

    2. Move the front door inside handle sub-assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow mark in the illustration. This will release the claws and allow the removal of the front door inside handle sub-assembly.

      Disconnect the cable from the front door inside handle sub-assembly by pulling it in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration.

  19. REMOVE FRONT DOOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY OUTSIDE

    1. Release the round bar by turning the fastener in the direction shown.

    2. Remove the round bar from the front door handle assembly outside.

      Remove the 2 nuts.

      Remove the front door handle assembly outside from outside of the vehicle by moving it in the direction shown in the illustration.

  20. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY

    1. Release the round bar by turning the fastener in the direction as shown.

    2. Remove the round bar from the door lock cylinder.

      Remove the bolt.

    4. Using torx socket wrench T30, remove the 3 screws and front door lock assembly.

      Note

      Do not allow the front door lock assembly to fall or be damaged when removing the screw.

      Tech Tips

      Remove the front door lock assembly through the service hole.

    5. Disconnect the connector.

  21. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 2 screws and front door lock actuator assembly.

  22. REMOVE DOOR LOCK CYLINDER AND KEY SET

    1. Remove the bracket by moving it in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration.

    2. A0135T4

      Remove the door lock cylinder and key set from outside of the vehicle.

  23. REMOVE FRONT DOOR STIFFENER CUSHION NO. 2

    1. Remove the 2 bolts.

  24. REMOVE SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the bolt.

  25. REMOVE FRONT DOOR CHECK ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 2 bolts.

    2. Using torx socket wrench T40, remove the screw and front door check assembly.

      Tech Tips

      Remove the front door check assembly through the service hole.
