ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING INSTALLATION

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


  1. INSTALL ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING CLIP NO. 1

    Note

    Follow these procedures only when replacing the clips.


    1. Remove the tape that remains on the moulding surface of the vehicle body, then clean the surface with white gasoline.

    2. Using an infrared lamp, heat the clip installation surface of the vehicle body and roof drip side finish moulding.

      Heating Temperature
      Area Temperature
      Vehicle Body 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
      Roof Drip Side Finish Moulding 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

      Note

      Do not excessively heat the vehicle body or roof drip side finish moulding.

    3. Install new clips in the positions shown in the illustration. Press in the clips by hand.

      a 21.7 mm (0.854 in.)
      b 0.6 mm (0.024 in.)
      c 0.9 mm (0.035 in.)
      d 1.2 mm (0.047 in.)
      e 61.2 mm (2.409 in.)

      Note

      After pressing in the clips, wait 30 minutes or more before installing the roof drip side finish moulding.

      Tech Tips


      • Minimum hardening time: 30 minutes

      • Time needed for complete hardening: 24 hours

  2. INSTALL ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING

    1. Apply new double sided tape to the roof drip side finish moulding.

      w 7 mm (0.276 in.)
      t 1 mm (0.039 in.)
    2. A0138XIE01

      Engage the 2 clips and install the roof drip side finish moulding.

    3. Press the double sided tape.

    4. Remove the protective tape.
