BACK DOOR GLASS REMOVAL


  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. REMOVE BACK DOOR EMBLEM NO.1


    1. A0137ED

      Apply protective tape to the outer circumference of the back door emblem.

    2. Using an infrared light, heat the back door emblem.

      Heating Temperature
      Item Temperature
      Back Door Emblem No. 1 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)

    3. Using a scraper wrapped in protective tape, gradually peel the adhesive surface and remove the back door emblem.

  3. REMOVE REAR WIPER ARM

    1. Open the rear wiper arm head cap.

      Remove the nut and rear wiper arm.

  4. REMOVE REAR WIPER LINK CAP

    1. Remove the rear wiper link cap.

    2. A0138OF

      Remove the nut.

    3. A01361X

      Remove the rear wiper link pivot washer No. 1.

  5. REMOVE REAR WIPER MOTOR COVER

    1. Remove the rear wiper motor cover.

  6. REMOVE REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY

    A0137WC

    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the bolt and rear wiper motor assembly.

      Note

      Do not drop or damage the rear wiper motor assembly after removing the bolt.

  7. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS

    1. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    2. A0136KG

      Disconnect the wire harness clamp.

    3. A0135YP

      Remove the back door protector cover No. 1.

    4. A013807

      Remove the back door protector cover No. 2 and disconnect the wire harness.

  8. REMOVE BACK DOOR LOWER LOCK STRIKER ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 2 bolts and back door lower lock striker assembly.

  9. REMOVE BACK DOOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY OUTSIDE

    1. Remove the back door outside handle assembly from the back door glass.

  10. REMOVE BACK DOOR STAY ASSEMBLY


    1. A0137CL

      Remove the screw and clip, then open the roof side garnish inner.

    2. A0138CK

      Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 stop rings and the stay.

      Tech Tips

      Support the back door with your hands while removing the door stay.

    3. A0138NX

      Remove the back door stay bolt.

  11. REMOVE BACK DOOR GLASS

    1. Loosen the bolt from the back door damper stay bracket upper LH.

    2. A0136HR

      Remove the 2 bolts and back door glass.

      Note

      Do not remove the 2 bolts as the glass may fall and be damaged.

    3. Remove the 2 back door upper hinge retainers.

  12. REMOVE BACK DOOR DAMPER STAY BRACKET UPPER LH

    1. Remove the bolt and back door damper stay bracket upper LH.

    2. Remove the quarter window hinge retainer.

    3. Remove the bush.

  13. REMOVE BACK DOOR HINGE SUB-ASSEMBLY UPPER LH

    1. Remove the nut and back door hinge sub-assembly LH.

  14. REMOVE BACK DOOR HINGE SUB-ASSEMBLY UPPER RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as described for the LH side.

  15. REMOVE REAR WIPER MOTOR GROMMET

    1. Remove the rear wiper motor grommet from the back door glass sub-assembly.

  16. REMOVE BACK DOOR PROTECTOR BASE ASSEMBLY NO.1

    1. Remove the back door protector base assembly No. 1 from the back door glass.

      Note

      Remove any tape remaining on the back door glass.

  17. REMOVE BACK DOOR PROTECTOR BASE ASSEMBLY NO.2

    1. Remove the back door protector base assembly No. 2 from the back door glass.

      Note

      Remove any tape remaining on the back door glass.
