B2799 Engine Immobiliser System Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

This DTC is output when the ECM detects errors in communication between the transponder key ECU assembly and the ECM.

This DTC is also output when an engine start is attempted while the ECU communication IDs of the transponder key ECU assembly and the ECM are different.

Before troubleshooting for this DTC, make sure that no other DTCs have been detected in the transponder key ECU assembly. If any DTCs relating to key codes have been detected in the transponder key assembly, troubleshoot those DTCs first.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Clear the DTC. Click here

    2. Turn the ignition switch ON then wait for 10 seconds.

    3. Check that no DTCs are output.

      OK
      No DTC output.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSPONDER KEY ECU ASSEMBLY - ECM)


    1. A0136UNE02

      Disconnect the C30 transponder key ECU assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the B25 ECM connector.

    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard Resistance
      Terminal No. Specified Condition
      C30-12 (EFII) - B25-6 (IMO) Below 1 Ω
      C30-13 (EFIO) - B25-33 (IMI) Below 1 Ω
      C30-12 (EFII) orB25-6 (IMO) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      C30-13 (EFIO) orB25-33 (IMI) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    4. Reconnect the ECM connector.

    5. Reconnect the transponder key ECU assembly connector.
