HEADLIGHT LEVELING SWITCH INSPECTION


  1. INSPECT HEADLIGHT LEVELING SWITCH

    1. Check the voltage.


      1. Connect the positive (+) battery lead to terminal 4 and the negative (-) battery lead to terminal 6.

      2. Check the ratio which is obtained by dividing the voltage between terminals 2 and 6 by the voltage between 4 and 6. The voltages must be measured using a voltmeter.

        Standard
        Tester Connection Switch Position Specified Condition
        2 - 6 and 4 - 6 0 0.88 to 0.93
        2 - 6 and 4 - 6 - 0.71 to 0.74
        2 - 6 and 4 - 6 1 0.53 to 0.55
        2 - 6 and 4 - 6 2 0.35 to 0.37
        2 - 6 and 4 - 6 3 0.17 to 0.19

        If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight leveling switch.

    2. Check the illumination operation.


      1. Connect the positive (+) battery lead to terminal 4 and the negative (-) battery lead to terminal 6, then check that the illumination comes on.

        Standard
        Illumination comes on.

        If the illumination does not comes on, replace the bulb.
