SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR (for 3 Door) REMOVAL

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for both the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the RH side.


  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. REMOVE DOOR ASSIST GRIP COVER

    1. Disengage the 5 claws and remove the door assist grip cover.

  3. REMOVE FRONT ARMREST BASE PANEL UPPER (w/ Power Window)

    *1 Protective Tape

    1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 3 claws and remove the front armrest base panel.

    2. Disconnect the power window switch connector.

  4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY (w/o Power Window)

    1. Using a shop shop towel or piece of cloth, remove the front door window regulator handle.

  5. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 3 screws.

    2. Disengage the 15 clips and remove the front door trim board.

  6. REMOVE SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

    1. Disconnect the airbag sensor connector, as shown in the illustration.

    2. Remove the bolt, hook and side airbag sensor.
