ENGINE IMMOBILISER SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

The engine immobiliser system verifies that the correct key is in the ignition key cylinder before allowing fuel injection and ignition. This system uses a transponder key ECU assembly. If an unauthorized key is inserted into the ignition key cylinder, the ECU sends a signal to the ECM to prohibit the engine from starting.
