CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (for 3 Door) REMOVAL

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Using a clip remover, remove the wire harness clamp and connector clamp.

    2. Disconnect the buckle switch connector (driver seat only).

    3. Disconnect the front seat side airbag connector, as shown in the illustration (w/ front seat side airbag).

      Using "Torx" socket wrench T40, remove the 4 bolts and front seat.

  3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  4. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY (for Separate Seat Type)

    1. Disengage the 4 hooks and remove the rear seat cushion.

  5. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY (for Bench Seat Type)

    1. Disengage the 4 hooks and remove the rear seat cushion.

  6. REMOVE REAR SEAT BACK ASSEMBLY (for Separate Seat Type)

    1. Release the 2 hooks.

    2. Remove the 4 nuts, 4 bolts, 2 rear seat inner belts and rear seat back.

  7. REMOVE REAR SEAT BACK ASSEMBLY (for Bench Seat Type)

    1. Disengage the 2 hooks.

    2. Remove the 2 nuts, 2 bolts and rear seat back.

  8. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH

    1. Disengage the 2 clips and stud bolt, and remove the cowl side trim board.

  9. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

  10. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH

    1. Remove the front door opening trim weatherstrip.

  12. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH

    1. Disengage the 2 clips and 2 claws, and remove the front pillar garnish.

  13. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH

  14. REMOVE PACKAGE TRAY TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the package tray trim panel.

  15. REMOVE REAR SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH

    1. Remove the bolt and lap outer anchor plate of the rear seat outer belt.

  16. REMOVE REAR SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

  17. REMOVE QUARTER INSIDE TRIM BOARD RH

    1. Using a clip remover, remove the clip.

    2. Disengage the 7 claws and 7 clips, and remove the quarter inside trim board.

  18. REMOVE QUARTER INSIDE TRIM BOARD LH

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

  19. REMOVE ROOF SIDE RAIL GARNISH REAR RH

    1. Disengage the 5 claws and 2 clips, and remove the roof side rail garnish rear.

  20. REMOVE ROOF SIDE RAIL GARNISH REAR LH

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

  21. REMOVE ROOF SIDE GARNISH INNER RH

    1. Remove the clip and screw.

    2. Disengage the 4 claws and 7 clips, and remove the roof side garnish.

  22. REMOVE ROOF SIDE GARNISH INNER LH

  23. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH

    1. Remove the bolt and lap outer anchor plate of the front seat outer belt.

  25. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH UPPER RH

    1. Disengage the claw and 2 clips, and remove the center pillar garnish.

  27. REMOVE VISOR ASSEMBLY RH

    1. Remove the visor from the visor holder.

    2. Remove the 2 screws and visor.

  29. REMOVE VISOR HOLDER

    Use the same procedure as for the opposite side.


    1. Remove the screw.

    2. Using a moulding remover, disengage the claw and remove the visor holder.

  30. REMOVE ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY

    1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 2 claws.

    2. Disconnect the room light connector and remove the room light.

  31. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY

    1. Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips.

    2. Disengage the 2 hooks.

      Cut slits in the roof headlining, using a knife, as shown by the lines in the illustration.

      Note

      Do not cut the roof headlining to a depth of more than 6 mm (0.236 in.) to avoid damaging the roof panel.

    4. Insert a finger between the roof headlining and roof panel, and gently pull down and remove the roof headlining and each adhesive line, one by one.

      Note

      Do not pull the roof headlining downward with excessive force in order to avoid damaging the roof panel.

      Remove the roof headlining from the vehicle.

  32. REMOVE CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

    1. Disconnect the airbag connector, as shown in the illustration.

    2. Remove the 9 bolts.

    3. Disengage the 9 hooks and remove the curtain shield airbag.
