CONDENSER REMOVAL


  1. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM


    1. Start up the engine.

    2. Switch A/C ON.

    3. Turn the blower switch to ON.

    4. Operate the cooler compressor with an engine speed of approximately 1,000 rpm for 5 to 6 minutes to circulate the refrigerant and collect the compressor oil remaining in each component into the cooler compressor.

    5. Stop the engine.

    6. Remove the caps from the service valves on the refrigerant line.

    7. Connect the Freon collection/recycling device to discharge the refrigerant gas remaining in the refrigeration system.

      Note

      Use the Freon collection/recycling device in accordance with the manufacturer's instruction manual.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  3. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER

    1. Apply protective tape to the outer circumference of the front bumper cover, as shown in the illustration.

    2. Using a clip remover, remove the clip.

    3. Remove the 3 bolts, 5 screws and 2 clips.

      Disengage the 13 claws and remove the front bumper cover.

      Remove the 2 clips.

  4. REMOVE RADIATOR SIDE AIR SEAL NO.1

    1. Remove the clip.

    2. Disengage the 2 claws and remove radiator side air seal No. 1.

  5. REMOVE RADIATOR SIDE AIR SEAL NO.2

    1. Disengage the 3 claws and remove radiator side air seal No. 2.

  6. REMOVE DISCHARGE HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the discharge hose sub-assembly from the cooler condenser assembly.

    2. Remove the 2 O-rings from the discharge hose sub-assembly.

      Note

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering.

  7. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING TUBE ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the air conditioning tube from the cooler condenser assembly.

    2. Remove the 2 O-rings from the air conditioning tube assembly.

      Note

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering.

  8. REMOVE CONDENSER ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 2 bolts and the condenser assembly.

      Tech Tips

      When installing, refer to the following instructions. If installing a new condenser, add compressor oil to the condenser.

      Compressor oil
      ZXL 200PG or equivalent
      Add 10 cc (0.35 fl.oz.)
