INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch ON and push the intelligent tester main switch ON.

    3. Select the item MOTOR ACTUAL CURRENT in the DATA LIST and read the value displayed on the intelligent tester.

      Steering position Left turned Center position Right turned
      Motor Actual Current 10 to 34 A -1 to +1 A -34 to -10 A
      Command Value Current 33 A 0 A -33 A

    OK

    CHECK INTERMITTENT PROBLEM

  2. INSPECT STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY (POWER STEERING MOTOR)

    A01387V

    1. Disconnect the connector from the power steering motor.

    2. Measure the resistance between terminals M1 and M2 of the power steering motor connector.

      Standard Resistance
      0.07 to 1 Ω

    3. Reconnect the connector.

    REPLACE STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY

    REPLACE POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY
