REMOVE TRANSPONDER KEY COIL
Using a screwdriver, widen the 2 claws hung on the steering column upper with switch bracket by approximately 1.0 mm (0.039 in.).
Pull the transponder key coil toward the rear of the vehicle with the claw open.
Note
Do not apply excessive force to the case because this may damage it.
REMOVE STEERING COLUMN UPPER W/ SWITCH BRACKET ASSEMBLY
Clamp the steering column assembly in a vise between aluminum plates.
Using a drill, make a hole in the steering lock set bolt and set a screw extractor.
Using the screw extractor, remove the steering lock set bolt.
Turn the ignition switch to ACC and pull out the steering column upper w/ switch bracket assembly while pressing in the push button with a screwdriver.
Note
Be sure to press in the push button.
