REAR BRAKE DISASSEMBLY


  1. REMOVE FRONT BRAKE SHOE

    1. Using SST, remove the retaining strut spring.

      Using SST, remove the return shoe spring.

      Using SST, remove the retaining shoe spring.

    4. A0137AS

      Using pliers, remove the shoe hold down spring cup, shoe hold down spring, pin and front brake shoe.

  2. REMOVE ADJUSTER

    • Do not disassembly the adjuster.

    • Do not damage or bend any of the components.

    Do not disassemble the adjuster, and be careful not to damage or bend any of the components.

  3. REMOVE REAR BRAKE SHOE

    1. Using pliers, remove the shoe hold down spring cup, shoe hold down spring, pin and rear brake shoe.

    2. A01388Y

      Using needle-nose pliers, disconnect the parking brake cable from the parking brake shoe lever.

  4. REMOVE REAR WHEEL BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY

    1. Using a union nut wrench, separate the brake tube, and use a container to collect the brake fluid as it flows out.

    2. Remove the bolt and wheel brake cylinder.

    3. Remove the bleeder plug cap and bleeder plug from the wheel brake cylinder.
