FRONT BRAKE REMOVAL


  1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL

  2. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID

    Note

    Immediately wash off any brake fluid that comes into contact with any painted surfaces.

  3. DISCONNECT FRONT FLEXIBLE HOSE

    1. Remove the union bolt and gasket from the disc brake cylinder, then disconnect the flexible hose.

  4. REMOVE DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY

    1. Using a 13 mm socket wrench, remove the 2 bolts.

    2. Remove the disc brake cylinder from the disc brake cylinder mounting.

  5. REMOVE DISC BRAKE PAD KIT FRONT

    1. Remove the 2 disc brake pads from the disc brake cylinder mounting.

  6. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE PAD SUPPORT PLATE

    1. Remove the 4 disc brake pad support plates from the disc brake cylinder mounting.

  7. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER SLIDE PIN

    1. Remove the slide pin (upper) and slide pin (lower) from the disc brake cylinder mounting.

  8. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER SLIDE BUSH

    1. Using a screwdriver, remove the slide bush from the slide pin (lower).

      Tech Tips

      Wrap the screwdriver tip in protective tape before use.

  9. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE BUSH DUST BOOT

    1. Remove the 2 dust boots from the disc brake cylinder mounting.

  10. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER MOUNTING

    1. Remove the 2 bolts and disc brake cylinder mounting from the steering knuckle.

  11. REMOVE FRONT DISC

    1. Using "TORX" socket wrench T30, remove the screw and front disc.
