VACUUM PUMP (for 2WZ-TV) REMOVAL


  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM HEAD CAP

    1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, remove the front wiper arm head cap.

  3. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM


    1. Operate the wiper, then stop the windshield wiper motor assembly in the automatic stop position.

      Remove the nut and front wiper main arm.

      Disengage the meshing of the secondary arm from the front wiper motor and link assembly.

      Note

      Do not bend the secondary arm when removing it.

  4. REMOVE HOOD TO COWL TOP SEAL

    1. Disengage the 8 clips and remove the hood to cowl top seal.

  5. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER LH

    1. Remove the clip.

    2. Disengage the 9 claws and remove the cowl top ventilator louver LH.

    3. Disconnect the washer hose.

  6. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH

    1. Remove the clip.

    2. Disengage the 8 claws and remove the cowl top ventilator louver RH.

    3. Disconnect the washer hose.

  7. REMOVE FRONT WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 2 bolts.

    2. Disconnect the connector and remove the front wiper motor and link assembly.

  8. REMOVE COWL TOP PANEL OUTER

    1. Remove the clamp of the wire harness.

    2. Remove the grommet of the wire harness.

      Remove the 10 bolts and cowl top panel.

  9. REMOVE BATTERY


    1. Loosen the nut and disconnect the battery positive terminal.

      Remove the bolt and battery clamp.

    3. Remove the battery.

  10. SEPARATE ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK

    1. Remove the 2 bolts.

    2. Disengage the claw and separate the engine room relay block.

      Provisionally set the relay block to the hood support rod.

  11. REMOVE ENGINE COVER NO.1


    1. Remove the engine cover No.1.

  12. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET NO.1

      Remove the inlet air cleaner.

  13. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET NO.2

      Disconnect the mass air flow meter connector.

      Using a "torx" socket wrench, remove the screw.

    3. Remove the inlet air cleaner No.2.

  14. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Using a "torx" socket wrench, remove the 3 screws.

    2. Remove the air cleaner cap sub-assembly.

    3. Remove the air filter element.

  15. REMOVE TURBO PRESSURE SENSOR

      Disconnect the turbo pressure sensor connector.

    2. A0136M9

      Disconnect the turbo pressure sensor hose from the cylinder head cover.

      Remove the bolt and turbo pressure sensor.

  16. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A0137UK

      Loosen the air hose No.1 clamp.

    2. Disconnect the PCV hose from the cylinder head cover.

    3. Using a "torx" socket wrench, remove the 2 screws.

    4. Remove the air cleaner case sub-assembly.

  17. REMOVE VACUUM PUMP

    1. Disconnect the vacuum hose.


      1. Pinch the tube connector and then pull the vacuum hose out of the pipe.

      Remove the 2 bolts and vacuum pump.

      Remove the 2 O-rings from the vacuum pump.
