PARKING BRAKE CABLE REMOVAL


  1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL

  2. REMOVE REAR BRAKE DRUM


    1. Release the parking brake lever.

      Using "TORX" socket wrench T30, remove the screw and rear brake drum.

  3. REMOVE FRONT BRAKE SHOE

    1. Using SST, remove the retaining strut spring.

      Using SST, remove the return shoe spring.

      Using SST, remove the retaining shoe spring.

    4. A0137AS

      Using pliers, remove the shoe hold down spring cup, shoe hold down spring, pin and front brake shoe.

  4. REMOVE ADJUSTER

    • Do not disassembly the adjuster.

    • Do not damage or bend any of the components.

  5. REMOVE REAR BRAKE SHOE

    1. Using pliers, remove the shoe hold down spring cup, shoe hold down spring, pin and rear brake shoe.

      Using needle-nose pliers, disconnect the parking brake cable from the parking brake shoe lever.

  6. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY REAR

    1. Remove the 2 bolts and console box.

  7. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY NO.3

    1. Remove the adjusting nut.

    2. Disconnect the parking brake cable from the equalizer.

    3. Disconnect the clamp of the rear speed sensor.

    4. Remove the 3 bolts and nut.

    5. Pull the parking brake cable.

      Squeeze the point indicated by the arrow and pull out the parking brake cable.
