DESCRIPTION

This solenoid turns on according to signals from the skid control ECU and controls the pressure on the wheel cylinders to control the braking force.

C0226/21, C0236/22, C0246/23, C0256/24:

The skid control ECU begins to detect these DTCs when the vehicle speed exceeds 5 km/h (3 mph).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT FUSE (ABS NO. 2)


    1. A0137HYE01

      Remove the ABS NO. 2 fuse from the engine room R/B and J/B.

    2. Measure the resistance.

      Standard Resistance
      Below 1 Ω

    NG

    CHECK FOR SHORT IN ALL HARNESSES AND CONNECTORS CONNECTED TO FUSE AND REPLACE FUSE

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - SKID CONTROL ECU - BODY GROUND)


    1. Inspect the skid control ECU connector fitting for any defects.

    2. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.

    3. Inspect both the connector case and the terminal for deformation and corrosion.

      OK
      No deformation or corrosion.
    4. A0135VYE01

      Measure the voltage.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      A21-3 (+BS) - Body ground 10 to 14 V

    5. Measure the resistance.

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      A21-4 (GND1) - Body ground Below 1 Ω
      A21-1 (GND2) - Body ground Below 1 Ω

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

    OK

  3. RECONFIRM DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Turn the ignition switch off and then drive the vehicle at 5 km/h (3 mph) or more to activate initial check.

    3. Check if the same DTC is output.

      Result
      DTC (C0226/21, C0236/22, C0246/23 or C0256/24) output A
      DTC not output B

      Tech Tips

      The DTCs may be stored due to a malfunction in the connector terminal.
