CONNECT INTELLIGENT TESTER
Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Start the engine and allow it to idle.
Turn the tester ON.
Perform the active test using the intelligent tester.
Select the following menu items: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRC / Active Test.
INSPECT ACTUATOR MOTOR OPERATION
With the motor relay ON, check the actuator motor operation noise.
Turn the motor relay OFF.
Depress the brake pedal and hold it for approximately 15 seconds. Check that the break pedal cannot be depressed further.
With the motor relay ON, check that the pedal does not pulsate.
Note
Do not keep the motor relay ON for more than 5 seconds continuously. When operating it continuously, allow intervals of more than 20 seconds.
Turn the motor relay OFF and release the brake pedal.
INSPECT RIGHT FRONT WHEEL OPERATION
Note
Never turn ON a solenoid in any manner other than described below.
With the brake pedal depressed, perform the following operations.
Turn the SFRH and SFRR solenoids ON simultaneously, and check that the pedal cannot be depressed further.
Note
Do not keep the solenoid turned ON for more than 10 seconds continuously. When operating it continuously, allow intervals of more than 20 seconds.
Turn the SFRH and SFRR solenoids OFF simultaneously, and check that the pedal can be depressed further.
Turn the motor relay ON, and check that the pedal can be depressed.
Note
Do not keep the motor relay turned ON for more than 5 seconds continuously. When operating it continuously, allow intervals of more than 20 seconds.
Turn the motor relay OFF and release the brake pedal.
INSPECT OTHER WHEEL OPERATION
Using the same procedure, check the solenoids of the other wheels.
