REAR SHOCK ABSORBER INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY REAR


    1. Install the rear suspension support and the rear suspension support stopper onto the shock absorber assembly rear.

    2. Install the shock absorber assembly rear, rear suspension support and the rear shock absorber cushion retainer onto the body.

      While holding the piston rod, install the 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      24.5 N*m  { 250 kgf*cm, 18 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Tighten the nuts with 3 to 5 threads of the piston rod left showing, as shown in the illustration.

      *1 Wooden Block

      Insert a wooden block between the jack and rear axle beam.

    5. Jack up the rear axle beam slowly, and install the shock absorber assembly rear (lower side) with the bolt.

      Torque:
      48 N*m  { 489 kgf*cm, 35 ft.*lbf }

  2. INSTALL REAR SHOCK ABSORBER CAP

  3. INSTALL REAR WHEEL

    Torque:
    103 N*m  { 1,050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf }

  4. INSTALL DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD

    1. Install the deck trim side board with the clip.

  5. INSTALL QUARTER INSIDE TRIM BOARD (for 3 Door)


    1. Engage the 7 claws and 7 clips, and install quarter inside trim board.

    2. Install the clip.

  6. INSTALL REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH (for 5 Door)


    1. Engage the clip and 6 claws, and install the rear seat side garnish.

    2. Install the clip.

  7. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP (for 3 Door)

    1. Install the front door opening trim weatherstrip.

  8. INSTALL REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP (for 5 Door)

    1. Install the rear door opening trim weatherstrip.

  9. INSTALL REAR SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY (for 3 Door)


    1. Install the lap outer anchor plate of the rear seat outer belt with the bolt.

      Torque:
      42 N*m  { 430 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }

  10. INSTALL REAR SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY (for 5 Door)


    1. Install the lap outer anchor plate of the rear seat outer belt with the bolt.

      Torque:
      42 N*m  { 430 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }

  11. INSTALL PACKAGE TRAY TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY (for 3 Door)


    1. Install the package tray trim panel.

  12. INSTALL PACKAGE TRAY TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY (for 5 Door)


    1. Install the package tray trim panel.

  13. INSTALL REAR SEAT BACK ASSEMBLY (for Separate Seat Type)

    1. Place the rear seat back in the cabin.

    2. Using several steps, install and tighten the 4 nuts, 4 bolts and 2 rear seat inner belts uniformly in the sequence shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      22 N*m  { 225 kgf*cm, 16 ft.*lbf, for 1, 2, 3 and 4 }
      33.8 N*m  { 345 kgf*cm, 25 ft.*lbf, for 5 and 6 }
      42 N*m  { 430 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf, for 7 and 8 }

    3. Lock the 2 hooks.

  14. INSTALL REAR SEAT BACK ASSEMBLY (for Bench Seat Type)

    1. Place the rear seat back in the cabin.

    2. Using several steps, install and tighten the 2 nuts and 2 bolts uniformly in the sequence shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      22 N*m  { 225 kgf*cm, 16 ft.*lbf }

    3. Engage the 2 hooks.

  15. INSTALL REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY (for Separate Seat Type)

    1. Engage the 4 hooks and install the rear seat cushion.

  16. INSTALL REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY (for Bench Seat Type)

    1. Engage the 4 hooks and install the rear seat cushion.

  17. INSPECT REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT
