FRONT DRIVE SHAFT DISASSEMBLY


  1. REMOVE FRONT AXLE INBOARD JOINT BOOT NO. 2 CLAMP

    1. Using pliers, remove the inboard joint No. 2 clamp, as shown in the illustration.

  2. REMOVE FRONT AXLE INBOARD JOINT BOOT CLAMP

    1. Using a screwdriver, unstake and remove the inboard joint boot clamp.

  3. SEPARATE FRONT AXLE INBOARD JOINT BOOT


    1. Separate the inboard joint boot from the inboard joint assembly.

  4. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE INBOARD JOINT ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the old grease from the inboard joint assembly.

      Place matchmarks on the inboard joint assembly, tripod joint assembly and outboard joint assembly.

      Note

      Do not cause any damage when placing the marks.

    3. Remove the inboard joint assembly from the outboard joint assembly.

      Using a snap ring expander, remove the front drive inner shaft snap ring.

    5. A0138ECE02

      Place matchmarks on the outboard joint assembly and tripod joint assembly.

      Note

      Do not cause any damage when placing the marks.

    6. Using a brass bar and hammer, remove the tripod joint assembly from the outboard joint assembly.

      Note

      Do not tap the roller.

    7. Remove the inboard joint boot No. 2 clamp, inboard joint boot and inboard joint boot clamp.

  5. REMOVE DRIVE SHAFT DAMPER SETTING CLAMP (for 2WZ-TV RH Side)

      Using a screwdriver, unstake and remove the drive shaft damper setting clamp.

  6. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT DAMPER (for 2WZ-TV RH Side)

      Remove the drive shaft damper from the outboard joint assembly.

  7. REMOVE FRONT AXLE OUTBOARD JOINT BOOT NO. 2 CLAMP

    1. Using a screwdriver, unstake and remove the outboard joint boot No. 2 clamp.

  8. REMOVE FRONT AXLE OUTBOARD JOINT BOOT CLAMP


    1. A013622

      Using a screwdriver, unstake and remove the outboard joint boot clamp.

  9. REMOVE FRONT AXLE OUTBOARD JOINT BOOT


    1. Remove the outboard joint boot from the outboard joint assembly.

    2. Remove the old grease from the outboard joint assembly.

  10. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT HOLE SNAP RING

    1. Using a screwdriver, remove the front drive inboard joint hole snap ring.

  11. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT DUST COVER

    1. Using SST and a press, remove the dust cover.

      SST

      Note

      Do not drop the inboard joint assembly.
