REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING REMOVAL

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for both the RH and LH sides.


  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. REMOVE REAR WHEEL

  3. REMOVE REAR DRUM

    1. Using torx socket wrench T30, remove the torx screw and rear brake drum.

  4. SEPARATE REAR SPEED SENSOR

    1. Disconnect the speed sensor clamp from the rear axle beam.

    2. A0136UT

      Using torx socket wrench T30, remove the torx screw and separate the skid control sensor.

      Note


      • Fix the backing plate onto the rear axle using a piece of string or equivalent.

      • Do not damage the brake tube.

  5. REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 4 bolts and rear axle hub and bearing assembly from the rear axle carrier assembly.
