MULTI-MODE MANUAL TRANSAXLE SYSTEM Shift Paddle Switch Circuit

DESCRIPTION

Moving the shift lever to the M or E position enables the gear selection. The drive can select gears optionally by shifting the paddle to the [+] or [-].

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the tester on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Multi-Mode M/T / DTC.

    5. Read the DTCs using the tester.

  2. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (SPORT SHIFT UP SW / SPORT SHIFT DOWN SW)


    1. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Multi-Mode M/T / Data List.

    2. In accordance with the display on the tester, read the Data List.

      Steering switch [down] signal:

      Open (OFF) or Gnd (ON)

      Gnd: Steering switch [down] pushed

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SHIFT PADDLE SWITCH - TRANSMISSION CONTROL ECU)


    1. Disconnect the A27 transmission control ECU connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A27-9 (SFTU) - Body ground Pull continuously "+" (up shift) Below 2.5 Ω
      Release "+" (up shift) 1 MΩ or higher
      A27-8 (SFTD) - Body ground Pull continuously "-" (down shift) Below 2.5 Ω
      Release "-" (down shift) 1 MΩ or higher
    3. Connect the transmission control ECU connector.

  4. REPLACE TRANSMISSION CONTROL ECU


    1. Replace the transmission control ECU Click here.

    2. Disconnect the horn wire sub-assembly connector.

      B-2 (SFTU) or C6-9 (SUP) - All other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
