SYNCHRONIZATION POSITION CALIBRATION
For smoother shifting, the transmission control ECU learns the synchronization position of the transaxle gears. Perform the synchronization position calibration of the multi-mode manual transaxle while driving the vehicle after repairing system components.
Tech Tips
When replacing the following parts, proceed with the operation in the order listed in the table below.
| Part installed | Operation order | See procedure |
|---|---|---|

1. Initialization of Multi-Mode Transaxle System [Initialization of ECU] |

Note
Do not clear (initialize) parts other than those specified in the "Part Installed" column in the table above.
While driving the vehicle in M-mode, shift up and down between 1st and 5th at the vehicle speeds specified below.
Check that the gears shift smoothly.
| Gear Change | Gear Position | Vehicle Speed |
|---|---|---|
| Up shift | 1st→2nd | 25 to 48 km/h (15.5 to 29.8 mph) |
| 2nd→3rd | 46 to 90 km/h (28.5 to 55.9 mph) | |
| 3rd→4th | 67 to 131 km/h (41.6 to 81.4 mph) | |
| 4th→5th | 85 to 167 km/h (52.8 to 103.8 mph) | |
| Down shift | 2nd→1st | 25 to 48 km/h (15.5 to 29.8 mph) |
Tech Tips
Leave an interval of more than 2 seconds between gear changes.
If there is a shock when changing gears after the synchronization position calibration, perform the synchronization position calibration again.
