BACK-UP LIGHT SWITCH REMOVAL


  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. REMOVE BATTERY


    1. Loosen the nut and disconnect the battery positive terminal.

      Remove the bolt and battery clamp.

    3. Remove the battery.

  3. SEPARATE ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK

    1. Remove the 2 bolts.

    2. Disengage the claw and separate the engine room relay block.

      Provisionally set the relay block to the hood support rod.

  4. REMOVE BATTERY HOLD DOWN CLAMP


    1. Disengage the 2 wire harness clamps.

      Remove the 3 bolts and battery clamp.

  5. SUPPORT MANUAL TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY


    1. Support the manual transaxle with a jack.

  6. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR LH

    1. Remove the 6 bolts and engine mounting insulator.

      Tech Tips


      • Remove 5 A bolts from the upper side of the engine room.

      • Remove bolt B from the lower side of the engine room.

  7. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET LH

    1. Remove the 3 bolts and the engine mounting bracket.

  8. REMOVE BACK-UP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY

    1. Separate the back-up light switch wire harness from the clamp bracket.

      Tech Tips


      • For bend type :

        Expand the clamp with your finger and separate the harness from the bracket.

      • For clamp type :

        Pull the wire harness out and separate it from the bracket.

    2. Disconnect the back-up light switch connector and separate the connector clamp from the bracket.

      Using SST, remove the back-up light switch and gasket from the manual transaxle.
