      Note

      Assemble the transmission hub sleeve No. 2 and transmission clutch hub No. 2 in the correct orientations, as shown in the illustration.

      0.015 to 0.058 mm (0.0006 to 0.0023 in.)

      If the clearance is outside the standard, replace the 3rd gear needle roller bearing.

  9. INSTALL 4TH GEAR SYNCHRONIZER RING

    1. Coat the 4th gear synchronizer ring with gear oil, and install it onto transmission clutch hub No. 2.

  10. INSTALL 4TH GEAR BEARING SPACER

    1. Coat the 4th gear bearing spacer with gear oil, and install it onto the input shaft.

  11. INSTALL 4TH GEAR NEEDLE ROLLER BEARING

      Maximum clearance
      0.058 mm (0.0023 in.)

      If the clearance exceeds the maximum, replace the 4th gear needle roller bearing or the shaft.

  18. INSTALL 5TH GEAR BEARING SPACER

  22. INSTALL TRANSMISSION CLUTCH HUB NO.3

    1. Install the 3 shifting keys No. 3, 2 shifting key springs No. 1 and transmission hub sleeve No. 3 onto the transmission clutch hub No. 3.

      Note

      Assemble the transmission hub sleeve No. 3 and the transmission clutch hub No. 3 in the correct orientations, as shown in the illustration.

    2. Place the 5th gear synchronizer ring on the 5th gear, and align the synchronizer ring slots with the shifting keys No. 3.

    2. Using a hammer, tap a new snap ring onto the gear shift fork shaft No. 2.

    5. Install the gear shift fork shaft No. 2, gear shift fork No. 2 and reverse shift fork.

      Using a hammer, tap a new snap ring onto the gear shift fork shaft No. 3.

  44. INSTALL GEAR SHIFT FORK SHAFT NO.1

  49. INSTALL REVERSE IDLER GEAR SHAFT BOLT

  50. INSTALL SHIFT AND SELECT LEVER SHAFT ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the select return compression spring onto the manual transmission case.

    3. Coat the 4 bolts with adhesive.

    1. Coat the lock ball No. 1 with adhesive.

  57. INSTALL CLUTCH RELEASE FORK LEVER

      Apply clutch release grease to the contact surface between the release bearing and the release fork, the rotating and sliding parts of the release lever and the spline coupling part.

      Note

      Apply grease uniformly to the rotating and sliding parts of the release lever and spline coupling part. Remove any grease extending beyond the release lever joining part.

      Install the release fork lever onto the transaxle case together with the torsion spring, spring stopper and the release fork.

      Using a screwdriver and hammer, install a new E-ring.

      Secure the torsion spring to the release fork.

      Note

      Hold the spring and spring stopper up to the upper end of the release fork lever first, and then secure the spring.

  58. INSTALL CLUTCH RELEASE BEARING ASSEMBLY

  59. INSTALL RELEASE FORK RETRACTING SPRING HANGER
