DIFFERENTIAL CASE DISASSEMBLY


  1. REMOVE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL CASE FRONT TAPERED ROLLER BEARING


    1. A0136ESE01

      Using SST, remove the front differential case front tapered roller bearing from the front differential case.

      Tech Tips

      Set the claw of SST to the bearing inner race at the indented part of the front differential case.

  2. REMOVE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL CASE REAR TAPERED ROLLER BEARING

      Using SST, remove the front differential case rear tapered roller bearing from the front differential case.

  3. REMOVE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL RING GEAR

      Place matchmarks on the front differential ring gear and the front differential case.

    2. Remove the 6 bolts.

      Using a plastic hammer, remove the front differential ring gear from the front differential case.

  4. REMOVE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL CASE

      Using a pin punch 3 mm and a hammer, tap out the front differential pinion shaft straight pin from the front differential case.

    2. A0136LEE01

      Remove the front differential pinion shaft from the front differential case.

    3. Remove the 2 front differential pinions and the 2 front differential side gears from the front differential case.

    4. Remove the 2 front differential pinion thrust washers and the 2 front differential side gear thrust washers from each gear.
