PRECAUTION

DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY
REMOVE CONSOLE BOX
Turn the shift knob in the direction indication by the arrow in the illustration to remove it.
Remove the box bottom mat.
Remove the bolt <B>.
Disengage the 2 claws and remove the console box.
SEPARATE FLOOR SHIFT SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY
Separate the wire harness.
Remove the 4 bolts and shift lever.
REMOVE FLOOR SHIFT SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY
Remove the clip and separate the transmission control select cable from the floor shift shift lever.
Using a screwdriver, release the claw.
Separate the transmission control select cable from the shift lever retainer.
Remove the clip and separate the transmission control shift cable from the floor shift shift lever.
Using a screwdriver, release the claw.
Separate the transmission control shift cable from the shift lever retainer.
REMOVE BATTERY
Loosen the nut and disconnect the battery positive (+) terminal.
Remove the bolt and the battery clamp.
Remove the battery.
SEPARATE ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK
Remove the 2 bolts.
Disengage the claw and separate the engine room relay block.
Disengage the 3 wire harness clamps.
Provisionally set the engine room relay block to the hood support rod.
REMOVE BATTERY HOLD DOWN CLAMP
Remove the 3 bolts and the battery clamp sub-assembly.
SEPARATE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY
Remove the clip A and clip B, then separate the transmission shift cable from the manual transaxle.
Remove the clip A and clip B, then separate the transmission select cable from the manual transaxle.
REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY
Remove the 3 nuts and pull the transmission control cable out through the floor hole.
